Del Mar Beach 2010!

Del Mar Beach - the best way to kick off the new Wildcat season!

(To watch in "Full Screen", click the slide-show, then click "Full screen".)

Friday, while some girls were in the water within 30 minutes of arrival (braving 8-10 foot sets!), the dads set camp along prime beachfront real estate.  Friday evening began with Princess Idol which was dominated by the sassy Chumash girls.

Later that night the new girls were initiated into the Wildcat Nation by walking a bed of smoking hot blazing coals (made of ice cubes and red LED lights) in the sand.

Saturday morning we enjoyed a very hot Mountain Man breakfast and the biggest daddies went surfing as the rest of the tribe immersed in sand castle building and Chumash flag design.

Just chilling on the beach all Saturday was acceptable but there was so much to do, including a massive all-nation water fight, firetruck hose blasting, bead trading, and that night a prize fight along the fire-pit where we almost lost Bishop.

This exclusive video shows our wounded warrier Bishop the next morning.

Sunday morning the Marines woke our princesses, lined them up for push-ups, calisthenics and an obstacle course run by some very mean drill sergeants!  Classic.

Indian Hills, March 2010

Chumash had a huge turnout for Indian Hills, and we had a blast!

As usual, Chumash made a great impression, first by hosting a Gourmet Hot Dog and Chili Dinner for the entire Wildcat Nation (+300) Friday night, and then of course providing Friday Night Movies that had the whole place cheering!  Indian Hills is a fantastic locale, featuring a gigantic tree-house slide and fort, ZIP LINE, dirt bike track, petting zoo, paint ball shooting range, and an all-important swimming pool for a good old-fashioned Indian Princess bath during the hot afternoon.  On top of that the girls went "leprechaun hunting" using water balloon slingshots on the chiefs at short range!  The food and campfires were tops and everyone had a great time.  Oh, to top it off, an un-named Dad dropped in Saturday night with all the gear for Cupcake Decorating so the girls would not go an entire campout with a "craft"!

Agua Caliente!

Last weekend Agua Caliente was the place to be!

The Chumash girls climbed mountains, made plays, explored frog creek and stomped through the famous Mud Caves only to wash off en force in the Agua Caliente heated pool, among other fun and adventurous things! The chips-and-salsa contest and bead trading were cool; Mackenzie Zorn scored a magic bead from our Wildcat Medman, so she's got that goin for her! And congratulations to Chief Randy for winning the award for "chief with the least thought-out costume" at campfire Saturday night! And if you were lucky, or smart, or apparently rich, like the Galloping Ponies, then you were styled for dinner by the Chumash Tribe Saturday night! After such a great weekend in Agua Caliente, who among us can't wait for the next outing?

Camp Marston

The Chumash Tribe had an eggcelent time at Camp Marston!

We stayed in the Bunkhouse, coveted for its giant fire pit and fine breakfast facilities at the Raintree lodge. Both the girls and dads pretty much ruled the Ga Ga court whenever we were in the mood for it. And, at the 1st Annual Marston Egg Drop competition, Chumash really made a splash with our ostrich egg that literally hit the spot! Chumash had a great showing (17 princesses) and fun was had by all.

Mataguay

The Chumash Tribe had a fantastic time at Mataguay, the second camp out of the Wildcat Nations 2009-2010 tour!
